Track Review: Aarlon – Tu Meri Maut

1 min read

A new five-piece metalcore band, calling themselves Aarlon (facebook page) based in New Delhi releases a new track and a music video of the same, this month called, TU MERI MAUT.

I’ll have to be honest. I’m not much of a metalcore fan but this song is just one of those exceptions where after hearing a few times it really grows on you. The guitars and drums are just too sweet to forget. The guitars sound clean as f*** and those drums just add to the flavour.

From listening to the song you can pretty much get a very prog feel from it which I really liked. The drums sound tight and unforgiving which is excellently handled by Abhiruk Patowary.

The guitars which I mentioned earlier was probably my favourite part of the song. They sound so clean and good and yet all the while give out all this raw heavy tone. It was performed by Ritwik Shivam who is the music composer and Piyush Rana is the man behind the lyrics. They’re “One of the few Indian metal bands trying to communicate to masses through the Hindi language.” which is pretty cool in my books cause you don’t see that a lot every day and we need variation.

The vocals are sung by Pritam Goswami Adhikary and it was a bit of  “hit or miss” kind of situations and I know a lot of people will disagree with me with my views on the vocals as I really enjoyed the clean vocals but some of those guttural squeals really felt unnecessary. I’m not much of a metalcore fan so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. This is very much my view and would just like to state it clearly that I would’ve liked it a bit more if were done with clean vocals.

But all that aside, I will admit the production quality was exceptionally well done which was undertaken and mastered by Karan Singh Braria, Aditya Paul.

As someone who just listened to them, I would really recommend them to some of my friends who’re looking for something new and different.
