Pune-based thrash metal band **Kill The King** came up with a major announcement yesterday. The quartet, which debuted last year, has informed that drummer Akarsh Singh has left the band after around 18 months of association with the band. The band has also revealed that Rahul Singh will be filling in the void left by the departure of Akarsh.

Kill The King was formed way back in 2016 but came to fruition in 2020 only, after the band was joined by drummer Akarsh Singh and vocalist Pritam Goswami Adhikary. The news of his departure was made known in a social media post, that read –

*“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of our drummer Akarsh Singh from Kill the King. We have had a brilliant ride together over the past year and a half and his contribution to the band is invaluable. We wish him all the very best for his future endeavours!*”

It was also mentioned in the post that drummer Rahul Singh (Radionuclides, Stark Denial) would be joining the band as their new drummer.

*“We would like to introduce our newest member Rahul Singh, who will be joining us full time and has already started wreaking Havoc in the short 10 days he's been with us. Come down to our show on 4th June to watch him destroy the venue!”*

The band has been busy releasing new materials and doing shows right since the quartet got assembled. Last year, they released two singles to their name, ‘In the Name of Culture’ in January, and ‘Regicide’ in July of 2021, to much acclaim all around the country. Recently, they’ve started doing live shows to promote their recently released materials. Kill The King is expected to come up with an album this year.
