This year has already witnessed some popular music festivals in India making a grand comeback after years of gestation. Now, music-lovers of North-east India have one more reason to rejoice as Guwahati is all set to welcome a brand-new rock concert called Indian Open Air.
Co-hosted by Rocka Rolla events, Urban Mantra, and Kolkata-based E365 India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian Open Air concert will take place on November 27 in Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati. “Indian Open Air (IOA) will feature popular bands from across the globe, besides also hosting some of the most promising acts from our very own Northeast,” quoted the organizers of the show.
“It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Rocka Rolla Events, Urban Mantra & E365 Group of Companies have come together to host – Indian Open Air, a brand-new rock concert IP in the Gateway of Northeast, Guwahati. We take this opportunity to share our happiness as we officially announce the IP to the world.”
Further adding, they said, “In our years’ long endeavor, we have always wanted to share a glimpse, to one and all, of a celebration that resonates love, unity, and peace; from the heart of Northeast India – Guwahati! For us, creation or art cannot be limited to boundaries; hence, we introduce the annual gathering of free and creative minds, which we fondly call Indian Open Air.”

The North-eastern part of India has been home to several popular musics and cultural festivals, be it the Ziro Festival of Music (Arunachal Pradesh), Hornbill Festival (Nagaland), Majuli Music Festival (Assam) or the Orange Festival Dambuk (Arunachal Pradesh). And the Indian Open Air is sure to add another feather to the wonderful list of cultural celebrations that have long been an integral part of the culture in this region of India.

It is to be noted that Rocka Rolla events have successfully hosted several internationally reputed artists such as As I Lay Dying, Veil of Maya, Guthrie Govan, Jeff Loomis, Benighted, and many others. So do expect a heavy line-up to feature this time as well.
