# Review policy

Reviews on Headtilts are the honest opinions of the people who write them.

**Whoever made the record.** A review is the writer’s honest opinion, and a submission doesn’t guarantee coverage.

## How we keep it honest

### No reviewing your own band

We can’t run a review of a writer’s own band or a client’s.

### Connections on the table

Writers tell us about any connection to a band when they pitch.

### No paid links

Contributors can’t take paid links or sponsored posts, or have undeclared ties to the band.

### Promos and guest lists

When promos or guest-list spots come our way, we offer them to contributors. We can’t promise them.

## Good questions

### What do you review?

Albums, EPs and singles. Writers also send us gig reports.

### Does sending us music guarantee a review?

No. A submission doesn’t guarantee coverage, and we can’t always reply to everything.

### What if a review gets a fact wrong?

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so on the story and on our corrections page.

## Got a release for us?

Tell us about it and where to hear it.
