*Last updated: 28 October 2026*

These are the ground rules for using Headtilts: reading it, commenting, voting, booking tickets and sending us things. They're written to be read, not skimmed past. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

They sit alongside our [privacy policy](https://headtilts.com/pages/privacy), which explains what we collect and why.

## Who we are

Headtilts is an independent music publication based in India. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Headtilts. You can reach us through our [contact page](https://headtilts.com/pages/contact).

## Reading and sharing our work

Headtilts is free to read and you don't need an account. Our articles, reviews, interviews, photos, illustrations and design belong to us or to the people who made them, and are used with their permission.

You're welcome to:

-   share links to anything on the site;
- quote a short extract in your own writing, as long as you credit Headtilts and link to the original.

Please don't, without our written permission:

-   republish whole articles, or large parts of them, anywhere else;
-   use our photos or artwork;
- copy the site in bulk, whether by hand, with scrapers or to train AI models.

## Other people's photos and work

Some photos come from photographers, bands, labels and free libraries such as Wikimedia Commons. We credit them under the photo and follow their licences. If you think we've used your work without the right permission, [tell us](https://headtilts.com/pages/contact?topic=correction) and we'll look into it straight away, and take it down if we should.

## Comments

Comments are for talking about the music and the story. You're responsible for what you post, and your name and comment are shown publicly. Please don't post anything that:

-   abuses, threatens or harasses anyone, or attacks people for who they are;
-   shares someone else's personal information;
-   is spam, advertising, or links to pirated music or files;
-   pretends to be someone else;
-   breaks the law.

Comments may be checked before they appear. We can decline, edit out personal information from, or remove any comment, and stop someone commenting, without notice. You keep the rights to what you write, and you allow us to show it on Headtilts for as long as it's up.

## Polls and reactions

Polls are for fun and for taking the pulse of readers, not scientific surveys. It's one vote per person. We may remove votes that look automated or repeated, and we may close or reset a poll.

## Events and tickets

When you book a place at an event, you're agreeing to these terms and to the details on the event's page: the date, time, venue, price and any rules it lists.

- **Paying.** Paid tickets are priced in Indian rupees and processed securely by Razorpay. The price is shown before you pay.
- **Your ticket.** Your ticket has a QR code that's checked at the door, and each ticket gets you in once. Keep it to yourself: whoever shows it first gets in.
- **Changes.** If an event's date, time or venue changes, we'll email you as soon as we know.
- **Cancellations and refunds.** If an event is cancelled, we'll refund paid tickets in full. If you can't make it yourself, reply to your ticket email and we'll tell you what's possible for that event.
- **On the night.** The venue's own rules apply, including any age limits. Some events are run with or by other organisers, and their terms may apply too.

## Sending us things

When you write to us, send a news tip or submit your music, you confirm that you have the right to send it.

- **Music submissions.** You allow us to listen to it, write about it, and link to or embed the links you sent. A submission doesn't guarantee coverage, and what we write is our honest opinion.
- **News tips.** We check tips before using them, and we may use what you tell us in our reporting. If you send a tip anonymously, we can't come back to you with questions.

We read what's sent to us, but we can't always reply to everything.

## Newsletter, alerts and offline reading

The newsletter, breaking-news alerts in your browser and saving stories to read offline are all optional. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter with one click, and turn alerts off from the link at the bottom of any page or in your browser's settings.

## Getting things right

We work to be accurate and fair. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so on the story and on our [corrections page](https://headtilts.com/corrections). If you spot a mistake, [let us know](https://headtilts.com/pages/contact?topic=correction).

Reviews and editorials are the honest opinions of the people who write them.

## Using the site fairly

Please don't try to break into the site or its admin area, overload it, get around its limits, or interfere with other readers using it. That includes faking votes, registrations or messages.

## Links and embedded players

We link to other websites and embed players from services such as YouTube, Spotify and Bandcamp. They're run by others under their own terms, and we're not responsible for what they show or do.

## Our responsibility

We put care into Headtilts, but the site is provided as it is. We can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we're not responsible for losses that come from relying on it, except where the law says we must be. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.

## Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and point out anything important.

## The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute about them will be handled by the courts of India.
