DREADHAMMER announces debut full-length album; reveals album artwork and full tracklist

Kolkata has always been the cradle of some of the most kickass old-school extreme metal acts in the country. Dreadhammer (facebook page), one such stellar act from the city, has recently announced the details of their upcoming debut full-length album.

On Friday evening, Dreadhammer announced the album title and full tracklist of the record via social media. Titled ‘Sovereign’, the studio album will feature nine tracks flexing the groovy blend of thrash that they’re known for.

The thrash quartet has also unveiled the artwork of their album ‘Sovereign’, which was designed by Jit Dey. Talking about the upcoming debut release, the band wrote, “We are so proud and ecstatic to unveil the outcome of our collective hard work, creative dedication, and sheer persistence from the last couple of years condensed into a collection of songs we can take real pride in.”

The group has also announced that the release of their upcoming debut album ‘Sovereign’ will be marked by a special album launch event in Kolkata. Due to take place on June 18, 2023, the album launch gig ‘Hammer Assault’ would see the band perform the record live in its entirety at the Triguna Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University to a limited audience.

“Our fans deserve nothing but the best in terms of quality and execution and that’s what we promise to deliver!” The album was mixed and mastered by Akash Sherpa at the Anomaly Sound Designs studio.

It is also worth noting that this upcoming album will feature their current line-up for the very first time. For the last few years, the band has seen numerous line-up changes, with co-founder and frontman Rishav Bhattacharya being the sole constant member since the inception of Dreadhammer.
