News: Mumbai’s GUTSLIT Bids Farewell To Vocalist Kaushal LS

1 min read

After five years of incessant guttural assault, Mumbai death metal icons GUTSLIT have announced that they’ve parted ways with their long-time vocalist and frontman Kaushal LS. In a social media post yesterday, the band has come up with an official statement, quoting the guttural vocalist himself.

It’s been a remarkable run with GUTSLIT for me over the years. We got to play some really great shows and festivals, and tour a ton of cities and countries. I’ll always cherish that. But the time has come for me to move on. I wish the band the very best with all their future pursuits.

GUTSLIT was formed back in 2007 in Mumbai, India, as a brutal death grind quartet. Over the last 13 years, they have released two studio albums and one split CD, with their last album ‘Amputheatre’ (2017) being an instant death grind sensation upon its release. Kaushal, who also fronts fellow metal acts Godless (Hyderabad), Orchid, and Eccentric Pendulum (both Bengaluru), joined the band back in 2016 after Aditya Barve left the vocal duty six months prior. During his five-year stint with the band, the Mumbai death metallers toured extensively with fellow International acts like Stillbirth, Benighted, Splattered, and several others throughout Europe and South East Asia to huge success.

The band is yet to come up with an official statement regarding Kaushal’s replacement.
