After the successful album launch gig by metallers Zygnema in Mumbai last month, the Scarfest gig series is now back with its newest iteration. ‘The Iconic Experience’, hosted by Scarfest, will now take place in Pune, Maharashtra, with Zygnema’s performance supported by two other metal acts.
The Pune edition of this gig series presented by Scarfest, a Mumbai-based event management organization, will see Zygnema joined by thrash metal trio Kasck (Pune), and death metallers Infestation (Nagpur). The gig will take place on April 28, 2024, at antiSOCIAL in Shivajinagar, Pune.
The first edition of ‘The Iconic Experience’, the album launch tour of Zygnema, went underway in Mumbai last month where the band performed their recently-released EP ‘Iconic’ in its entirety. Talking to Headtilts regarding Scarfest, Ivin Viegas said, “Our (Scarfest) first edition happened on December 22, 2019. From there, we haven’t stopped.” The Mumbai edition of the album launch gig by Zygnema also witnessed performances by Kasck and the punkcore band GreyFade.
“Our team primarily consists of four of us – Me (Ivin), Ekta, Sidharth & Jimmy. We have been curating a property for younger and new bands called ‘Freshblood’, which we have taken to Pune as well”, added Ivin. The first-ever edition of Freshblood went underway in Mumbai and Pune last year, which saw some big names performing such as Gutslit, Bloodkill, Kill The King, Splinter, and others.
“Our primary moto or objective is to create a large community where every young or professional band/musician would want to be a part of. Somewhere we do have that fire in us to see this name reach the other side of the world and we get to host international artists and probably become a platform to send Indian acts overseas.”

Zygnema has been around in the metal scene of the Indian subcontinent for almost two decades now. Their latest EP ‘Iconic’ is their third official release overall, making them one of the veterans of the Indian heavy music industry. Their last release, the single ‘I Am Nothing’, was released back in 2019, and since then the quartet has been working on releasing a new album, which got manifested this year in the form of their record ‘Iconic’.
