On Friday, November 5, Dymbur announced via their social media handles that they’ve taken a new direction for the band and their new single #N2RC will showcase traditional Khasi instruments, indicating the quintet’s shift towards folk metal. They have even labeled their new blend of metal featuring traditional ethnic instruments as ‘KHASI THRAAT FOLK METAL’.

Since its inception in the year 2011, Dymbur had always sported a modern progressive metal sound characterized by djent-laden riffs and polyrhythmic patterns, complimented by crushing breakdowns. Taking inspiration from modern metal icons like Monuments, After The Burial, and Meshuggah as well, the band has come up with one full-length album titled ‘The Legend of Thraat’ back in 2019 to some rave reviews throughout the globe.
