The Indian subcontinent edition of the Wacken Metal Battle took place this year which saw a lot of big names participating this year. The finals of the 2024 edition of the Wacken Metal battle took place in Bangalore last week, where Kasck from Pune, Maharashtra came out victorious.
After the conclusion of the regional rounds of the Wacken Metal Battle 2024, six bands from different corners of the country emerged as the finalists for the competition. The final round of the competition, which took place in Bangalore on February 10, 2024, saw these bands battle it out amongst themselves for the ticket to the Wacken Open Air, Germany.

The six bands who made it to the final of the Wacken Metal Battle Indian subcontinent are Confuzone (Darjeeling), Coordinates (Delhi), Ksetravid (Bangalore), Septic Isle (Hyderabad), Hope For Humanity (Diphu), and Kasck.
Taking to social media, the thrash metal trio wrote, “Yes, You are looking at the Winners of Wacken Metal Battle India 2024! See you soon Germany!!!”
“Their win now propels them onto the global stage at Wacken Open Air 2024, where they will stand shoulder to shoulder with bands from 29 other countries in one of the most prestigious metal festivals in the world. This opportunity not only showcases their talent on an international platform but also marks a significant milestone in their career, representing India’s vibrant and diverse metal scene”, posted the official Instagram handle of Wacken Metal Battle.

The last instance of an Indian band making it to the Wacken Open Air was in 2022 when Chennai-based Moral Putrefaction won the metal battle in the Indian subcontinent. In the past, several Indian bands have also graced the stage at this prestigious metal festival, with the likes of Demonic Resurrection, Zygnema, Plague Throat, and Godless among others.
