Hyderabad-based hardcore/crossover thrash band R.A.I.D has dropped a new single from their upcoming album. Titled ‘D.I.N.A.S.’, the track has been taken off their upcoming EP ‘Dominion’ which will be out in early April of this year.

D.I.N.A.S., or ‘Death Is Not A Solution’, by R.A.I.D is the second single from their upcoming EP which they have unveiled before the album release. The song talks about self-harming thoughts about suicide and urges people to not take that path.

From L-R: Bobbin Jaydev (drums), Rueban Issac (vocal), David Samuel (guitar), and Amit Cornelius (bass).

Talking about the single, the band said, “Death Is Not A Solution (D.I.N.A.S.) is a song that focuses on people having suicidal thoughts. It is important to hang onto your life because everyone has experienced pain and sorrow before in their life.”

“(That) you should seek comfort in your friends and accept their hand if they are willing to reach out to you. This song can let a person know that their negative emotions are being taken seriously, and to hold onto your life”, the band added.

Musically, the track is probably the band’s most groovy composition boasting of some crunchy down-tuned riffs. One can clearly see some crossover thrash influences oozing out of this song, while Bobbin’s thunderous drumming and vocalist Rueben’s chanted growling delivery packs the composition together.

The metal quartet has recently changed its line-up by replacing their earlier guitarist and bassist with David Samuel and Amit Cornelius respectively. This change has seemed to have a noticeable impact on the sound of R.A.I.D, evident in their last single ‘Aftermath’ as well. Prior to that, the band released three albums – ‘The Strong Survive’ (2018), Imperium (2019), and Defiance (2022), all of which were released through the American label Rottweiler Records.

After parting ways with the record label, Dominion EP is the band’s first record to be released independently, which will be out on April 4, 2024. This release will see R.A.I.D partner with an international PR agency named Hold Tight based in the UK.
