Starting as a pure studio project, Guwahati-based Arseniic (link) has gradually become one of the most reliable live acts in this region. After a string of single releases in the past few years, Arseniic has now dropped their debut music video for the brand new single ‘Ignite’.

Drawing heavily from influences such as Meshuggah, Textures, and Monuments, the ‘Ignite’ showcases some complex yet catchy djent chugging, filled with polyrhythmic beats and groovy bass lines. The lyrics of the song talk about how the weak ones always fall, and only the strong will continue to ignite the flames of perseverance.

“The single is a heavy metal anthem that depicts the unyielding determination of those who survive the relentless natural selection process. With powerful riffs and thunderous drums, the song motivates listeners to keep fighting in the battle of survival against the fittest”, said the band about the song’s lyrical inspiration.

Since its inception in 2015, the band has gone through several line-up changes. After stabilizing their line-up, Arseniic released the single ‘Maraud’ in 2020 which showed a lot of promise. The current line-up comprises Sam Konjham on vocal, Rick Singha on guitar, Debanuj Rajkhowa on bass, and Kushal Singh on drums.

In the music video, all four members of the band could be seen banging their heads while performing the song amidst a canvas of smoke and colorful lights. The visuals in the video, juxtaposed with the powerful composition, succeed well in conveying the overall sentiments of the song.

The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Kangkan Deuri of Sound Therapy Productions, while the music video was directed by Pankaj Pao Films.
