Even during this pandemic-stricken time, Rocka Rolla Events is leaving no stone unturned for the independent music scene to keep on thriving amidst all the obstacles. Recently, with the help of a crowdfunding campaign, the management has successfully pulled off the Rocka Rolla Music Awards 2021. This year, the second edition of this award event witnessed some seriously talented artists fighting it out among themselves for the individual award categories.

The Godspeed Suzuki Rocka Rolla Music Awards 2021 event culminated on November 28 in Guwahati’s Urban Mantra, Zoo Road. In association with the Marqbac Studios, the event presented awards to winners in 15 categories, including ‘Special Mentions’ and a ‘Rising Star’ category for emerging artists.
Among the major categories, Nagaland’s Trance Effect bagged the ‘Best Album’ category for their album ‘Clowns’. While the ‘Best Rock Band’ award was claimed by rock supergroup Rain in Sahara, Guwahati-based Jammers Graveyard took home the ‘Best Metal Band’ category award. New Delhi-based metal act Flying Cupid’s single ‘Into the Light’ featuring Lukas Magyar (Veil of Maya) was selected as the ‘Best Music Video’ for its visually appealing animated music video.
In the individual categories, Rahul Kaushik of Celestial Lamen won the ‘Best Bassist’ award, while Wine O’ Clock‘s Pritam Boro took home the ‘Best Keyboard Player’ award. The ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ was given to Rosty Ahmed. Here is the full list of winners and their respective categories:

The winners were adjudged by a grand jury comprising big globally famed names like Derek Roddy, Guernica Mancini, Joi Barua, Alexy Khoury, Elia Mssawir, and Manas Chowdhary. The event was also graced with performances from acts like Farhad Hussain, Nahida Collective, Rubella, and a special appearance by Voodoo Child with their album launch.
The Rocka Rolla Music Awards 2021 was powered by AxomNet Broadband Pvt Ltd, with Beverage Partner Wine & Spirits of Bhutan, Brand Partner Task Force for Music and Arts, and supported by Groove In Music Institute/Jam Pad.
