Since their resurface this year, Guwahati deathcore metallers Jammers Graveyard have wasted no time in making a comeback statement. Armed with a brand new line-up, the band has recently released a new single titled ‘Diabolical Manipulator’, which is taken from their upcoming record.

The single is a reminder of why Jammers Graveyard has been one of the most reliable acts from North-east India. After the untimely demise of their co-founder and frontman Anuj Dorji back in 2021, which halted their album release, the band took some time off to realign themselves and fill in the void left by the late vocalist.

Two years later, the band is back with a soon-to-be-released debut album, with a fresh line-up that features Bijit Chakravarty (Maximal, Anatomical Deformity) on vocals and Aman Gurung (Tyrrhenian) on bass. Original member Pawan Damai is still at the helm of the guitar department.

The song ‘Diabolical Manipulator’ reeks of typical brutal slamming deathcore, with a hint of progressive elements. Clocking just below the four-minute mark, the track is a ruthless brutal assault, not recommended for the faint-hearted. The downtuned guitar chugging of Pawan, accompanied by the relentless machine-gun double bass drumming is a testament to the band’s technical proficiency.

As for the vocal section of the song, late frontman Anuj fulfilled the duty, who seems to have successfully ticked all the boxes required to complement a slamming deathcore composition. His growling is loud yet almost impeccable in delivery, with his low end holding enough ground to rumble the tectonic plates.

The debut album of Jammers Graveyard, from which the track has been taken, is titled ‘Man Inhumane’, and is due to release in the coming months. According to band manager Upamanyu Borah, five tracks from the said album will feature the late vocalist Anuj Dorji, whereas Bijit has contributed to two songs. Also, the album will feature their former drummer Joy Das, as well as their current drummer Sunny Das, both of whom have contributed drums for this record.

The song was mixed and mastered by Kangkan Deuri, and the amazing motion graphic video of the song was made by Rui Penxils.
